Timor-Leste received the Golden Medal from the Indonesia Journalistic Unit
Timor-Leste, represented by the Vice-Prime Minister, José Luís Guterres, received the Golden Medal, symbol of friendship from the Indonesia Journalistic Unit (Indonesian acronym PWI), in Kupang – West Timor, during the celebration ceremony of the 65th anniversary of Indonesia’s National Press Day, which took place on February 9th, 2011.
“I participated in this event representing the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão. The Prime Minister wishes to present his greetings of respect and appreciation to the public press of the Indonesian State. This event has manifested a spirit of friendship between the two nations, through the diplomatic channel of the press”, highlighted the Vice- Prime Minister, José Luís Guterres, during the press conference.
Accompanying the Vice- Prime Minister in this ceremony were the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Mariano Assanami Sabino, the Secretary of State for Youth and Sport, Miguel Manetelo and the Timor-Leste Consul in Kupang, Feliciano da Costa.
