During the meeting, Santos presented updated information on the process of ceasing production activities and on the progress of ongoing studies regarding the feasibility of converting the Bayu-Undan field for carbon capture and storage (CCS)- an initiative that could position Timor-Leste as a regional hub in this emerging area of energy transition.

The meeting is part of the Government’s efforts to ensure an orderly transition after the closure of operations in Bayu-Undan, ensuring that existing infrastructure can be leveraged through new investments and technological solutions aligned with national sustainable development and economic diversification goals.
