MTCI inaugurates the HPL Headquarters in Baucau: “Develop Local Products”

The Ministry of Tourism, Commerce and Industry (MTCI) inaugurated the headquarters of the Hadomin Produtu Lokal (HPL) Group, in the Boruman suco, Baucau Vila sub-district.
The group’s main objective is to contribute for the development of local products, to answer the national consumers’ needs and to compete in the international market.
The construction of the headquarters counted on the support of the MTCI and the Centre of the Community Dvelopment of the Baucau district.
The MTCI Chief of Staff, Henrique Carlos, who presided the inauguration, appealed to the group to properly use the received support to increase the quality of the production and this way be able to get in markets in the best way possible. “Your products must have quality, to gain the sympathy of local and international consumers”, underlined the MTCI Chief of Staff.
The Food and Economy Security General-Inspector, Florentina Smith, ensured that the necessary support to the HPL group will be made available so it can develop itself. “We will not turn our backs at any group that may be formed in the future. We intend to see seriousness in their activities”, demanded the Inspector.
The Committee President of the Centre of Community Development, Priest Martinho Gusmão, said that he expects a larger support to the HPL group, from the Government and from its politicy, as well as to other existing groups in the whole territory, so they can contribute for national development. “We observe that the Timorese are committed and Government support is necessary for the development of the local products with quality and quantity” said Priest Martinho Gusmão.
