The Municipality of Manatuto Receives Three Ambulances Provided by the Chinese Province of Hunan
The Government of the Chinese Province of Hunan, through its Vice-Governor Zhang Yingchun, officially handed over three ambulances to the Municipality of Manatuto. The handover ceremony, held on October 25th in Hunan, was attended by the Minister of State Administration, Tomás do Rosário Cabral, who received the vehicles on behalf of the municipality.
The donation is in response to the commitment made by the Government of the Chinese Province of Hunan during the visit of the Vice-Governor, Zhang Jian Fei, to Manatuto on May 4th and 5th this year, when both sides celebrated the tenth anniversary of the friendly partnership between Hunan and Manatuto. The offer aims to strengthen the municipality's capacities and support the local health system.
During his official visit to Hunan, Minister Tomás do Rosário Cabral and his delegation also took part in the opening of the 2024 International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition, an event that brings together representatives from around 50 countries from October 26th to 28th at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Hunan, China.
The relationship between Timor-Leste and China, which has historical roots, has strengthened over the years, especially through cooperation between the municipality of Manatuto and the province of Hunan, resulting in projects in various areas.
The ceremony was also attended by Ambassador of Timor-Leste to the People's Republic of China, Loro Horta, as well as the Presidents of the Municipality Authorities of Manatuto and Baucau, Luís Inácio Henriques Fernandes and Veneranda Eurico Marques Lemos Martins, respectively.
