The Minister of Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Agio Pereira, met today, August 8^th, 2024, with the Executive Director of Aero Dili, Lourenço de Oliveira, at the Government Palace in Dili, to discuss the national civil aviation sector.

During the meeting, Lourenço de Oliveira presented Aero Dili's development plans and highlighted the challenges the company faces in the current market. 

Minister Agio Pereira stressed the importance of the civil aviation sector for Timor-Leste's connectivity with the rest of the world and for the country's economic development, especially in tourism, trade and business sectors.

The Minister of Presidency of the Council of Ministers also reaffirmed the government's commitment to improving airport infrastructure and supporting the development of the sector, as outlined in the Program of the 9th Government, with a view to improving national connectivity and also ensuring that the civil aviation sector makes a significant contribution to the country's economic development.
