Central Bank of Timor-Leste Launches New Currency Exchange Machines

The Central Bank of Timor-Leste (BCTL – acronym in Portuguese) presented and demonstrated the use of the new machines for exchanging US dollar notes for coins at an event held on July 19^th, 2024, at the Central Bank's premises. Screenshot 2024-07-25 153249

The launch of the machines was led by the Governor of the Central Bank, Helder Lopes, accompanied by the Vice-Governor, Sara Lobo Brites, who emphasised the importance of this new technology in enabling retailers and the general public to convert US dollar notes into coins easily.
