SEFOPE organises Career and Education Fair

The Government, through the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organised the Career and Education Fair on June 28th and 29th, 2024. The event was part of the Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Skill Project (YESS), jointly funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the UNDP.
The main aim of the Career and Education Fair was to provide comprehensive information on professional development opportunities, education, vocational training, career talks and scholarship opportunities for individuals, job seekers, students, and recent graduates.
During the two-day event, participants were able to explore the exhibition of employers, public instructions, youth centres, training centres and universities, thus promoting the sharing of essential information for the development of their careers.
Distinguished dignitaries attended the opening ceremony, including the Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employment, Rogério Araújo Mendonça; the Secretary of State for Local Development, Mateus dos Santos Tallo; the Representative of the Vice Prime Minister and President of the Board of Directors of the Timor-Leste Tourism Authority, Virgílio Smith; the President of the Ermera Municipal Authority, José Martinho Santos Soares; the UNDP Resident Representative in Timor-Leste, Adeline Carrier, the Programme Manager of KOICA Timor-Leste, KIM Jieun, among other guests.
