Tomorrow the date of the Holy Father's visit to Timor-Leste will be officially announced
Tomorrow, April 12th, 2024, at 7 p.m., in the Ecclesiastical Chamber of the Archdiocese of Dili, in Lecidere, the date of Pope Francis' visit to Timor-Leste will be officially announced.
The Holy See’s Representative in Timor-Leste, Monsignor Marco Sprizzi, invited all journalists to participate in the press conference.
Following the Catholic Church’s official announcement, the 9th Constitutional Government, through Tomás do Rosário Cabral, Minister of State Administration and interim General Coordinator of the Coordinating Committee for Preparations for the Visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Timor-Leste, will also speak to journalists to report on the preparations underway for this long-awaited visit.
On February 12th, Monsignor Marco Sprizzi said, "The Timorese Government is making excellent preparations”. He also thanked the Government “on behalf of the Holy See” “for the enormous, excellent, competent, and efficient work that is being done to prepare for the Pope's possible visit to Timor-Leste”.
Monsignor Marco Sprizzi also expressed that “the Vatican delegation [that came to Timor-Leste in January] was very impressed with the work that the Timorese Government is doing in this preparation”.
