Construction works in the Viqueque and Covalima districts

Between June and July this year, the Ministry of Infrastructures, in cooperation with the Institute of Management and Equipments, has committed itself in developing important construction works in rural areas within the Viqueque and Covalima districts.
The riverside bed of Alimbata was drained. An emergency channel was opened because of the damage verified at the Alimbata bridge, at the TEDE bridge and at the Caisa Lulik bridge that connects the Uatu-lari and Uatu-Carbau sub-districts, Viqueque district. A 17 Km road was opened to facilitate the connection between the Foho-Rem and Fatu-Lulik sub-districts in the Covalima district. A road was also opened between Lougoum, Maukatar and Lolotoe.
The IV Constitutional Government considers these construction works important for the local development, because they can reduce the poverty level, contributing for the development of infrastructures and increase the productivity in the agriculture sector, leading to an economic grow in the rural areas.
The Ministry of Infrastructures intends to propose a budget raise for the identification, classification and reparation of the basic infrastructures that are in bad conditions, in the rural and urban areas. It also intends to prepare a strategic plan for the public projects management in a way to implement the projects already planned.
