Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment discusses technical cooperation agreement with Infrastructure Portugal
On February 20th, the Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment, Gastão Francisco de Sousa, led a national delegation to a meeting at the headquarters of Infrastructure Portugal (Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP)) in Lisbon.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a potential technical cooperation agreement to increase the capacity of infrastructure management entities in Timor-Leste.
IP is a Portuguese public company responsible for planning, building, managing, and maintaining Portugal's rail and road network.
Pedro Lay, Coordinator of the Strategic Investment Unit, Nelson Santos, Vice Director of the National Procurement Commission, and Isabel Guterres, Timor-Leste Ambassador in Portugal, accompanied the Minister Gastão de Sousa at the meeting.
After a presentation of IP's ongoing projects, the parties discussed the areas where technical cooperation work could be carried out, reaffirming their mutual commitment to exploring cooperation opportunities. The meeting ended with a visit to the Traffic Control Centre (CCT – acronym in Portuguese), led by Celeste Assunção, Traffic Control Centre Manager (DRR).
