On the 19th of July, the Secretary of State for Social Assistance and Natural Disasters, Jacinto Rigoberto Gomes de Deus, inaugurated 35 social houses in the Ainaro District. The dwellings were built in several sucos, namely 10 in Kasa, ten in Mulo, Hatubilico sub-district and 15 in the Hatudo sub-district sucos.

“I ask all the beneficiaries, to whom these houses were attributed, to maintain them in good conditions so they may continue as such for a long time. To the community that lives close to these social houses, I ask you to collaborate and avoid any damages”, the Secretary of State appealed, during the inauguration.

The Kasa village chief, Albino de Araújo, thanked the Government on behalf of the population and requested the provision, for next year, regarding attribution of more houses, for the clarification of the community.

This Government program for social housing attribution has the objective of reducing poverty in the country, help the most vulnerable in obtaining an adequate house, and guarantee tranquillity and dignity to the citizens.

Also participating in the ceremony were the National Director for Social Assistance, Amândio Amaral Freitas, the district Administrator, sub-district Administrators, chefes de Sucos, chefes de Aldeia and local people.
