NSDP and the development of the Human Resources

The Ermera sub-district, Ermera district, was the place for the third day of the programme of the Strategic National Development Plan (SNDP) consultation, which occurred on Thursday last, the 15th September.
The the sub-district Administrator, Simão F. Piedade Babo, together with the population and with the region’s cultural representatives, welcomed the Prime Minister and his party.
Before Xanana Gusmão started the SNDP divulgation, it was the sub-district Administrator who opened the ceremony. The Ermera sub-district is divided into 10 sucos, 62 mountain villages, with very few plains. The majority of the population, around 90%, lives from agriculture as coffee producers.
During the SNDP presentation, the population revealed their concerns through the Sucos Chiefs. In response, the Prime Minister pointed out the existence of plans for human resources capacity training, with view in resolving priority problems, as well as in relation to the veterans issue with the creation of a Council at the national, district, sub-district and suco level.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were the Minister of Justice, Lúcia Lobato, the Minister of Health, Nelson Martins, the Vice-Minister of Finance, Rui Manuel Hanjam, the Secretary of State of Agriculture and Arboriculture, Marcos da Cruz and the Secretary of State of Environment, Abílio Lima.
