The Secretary of State of Professional Training and Employment (SoSPTE) in cooperation with the South Korean Human Resources Development Services (HRD = Human Resources Development) of the Ministry of Labour, facilitated the departure of another 66 Timorese workers (13 women and 53 men) to South Korea. The farewell ceremony of those that form the tenth Timorese group, took place at the ex-CNRT Room, in Balide, on 28th of June of 2010.

In his speech, the Secretary of State of Professional Training and Employment, Bendito Freitas, appealed “for the Timorese workers to conserve a good image of Timor-Leste in Korea. Their behaviour may lead the Korean Government asking for more Timorese workers for their country”.

On the same occasion, the Secretary of State for Equality Promotion (SoSEP), Idelta Rodrigues, wanted to highlight that “women should show their capacity to compete with men and should show their exemplar commitment to the rest of the Timorese women”.

The number of the Timorese women in Korea has already reached a total of 238, of which 25 are women.
