Malaysia intends to support the Government in the decentralization process

On August 7th, 2023, the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, welcomed the visit of the Malaysian Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Amarjit Sarjit Singh, at the Government Palace. 
During the meeting, the Head of Government and the diplomat reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. They discussed areas of cooperation between the two countries, notably in the process of administrative decentralisation and human resources capacity building.
Ambassador Amarjit highlighted the existing bilateral cooperation since 2000 and reassured Malaysia's commitment to expand and strengthen cooperation with Timor-Leste, in line with the 9th Constitutional Government’s priorities.
