Timor Resources partners with Timor Gap, the national oil company, in onshore oil and gas exploration.

During the meeting, Timor Resources officials took stock of the company’s activity, explained the difficulties faced in recent years and discussed the plan to supply natural gas from local reserves to the national energy grid and domestic consumption.

The Minister presented the general lines of the Programme, emphasising the importance of the oil and mineral resources sector, where the 9th Government, as mentioned in its Programme, intends to “transform Timor-Leste’s natural wealth, from its soils or its seas, into food security, health, productivity and job creation opportunities”. He also highlighted the importance of developing the national private sector and attracting foreign investment, another mandate priority, for the sustainable creation of jobs.

Minister Agio Pereira also assured his willingness to coordinate and liaise with the relevant Government members to resolve existing constraints rapidly.
