Ainaro District wins Cookery contest
The Secretariat of State for the Promotion of Equality (SoSPE) organized, in Same (Manufahi Sub-district) a Cookery contest that took place on the 27th of May, with contestants from three districts: Aileu, Ainaro and Manufahi. The winner was “Grupo Amizade”, from Ainaro District
“This activity reinforces the spirit of unity between couples, in a perspective of chore distribution and promotion of equality between genders, in the family environment” defended Micaela Ximenes from the Organizing Committee.
Besides promoting gender equality, the event intends to promote the art of Timorese cookery among teenagers, and is going to take place throughout Timor-Leste.
The selected ingredients for the confections were preserves, chicken, buffalo, pig, lamb and fish and in term of vegetables, cabbage, lettuce, mustard, cucumber and potato, among others.
Present in this first contest were the Manufahi district administrator, Filomeno Tilman, the National Director of Gender Development Policy from SoSPE, Armando da Costa, Director of Administration and Finance, Maria José Sanches and the Chief of Staff, Angélico Pedro dos Santos.
