National Stability is Fundamental for the Development of the Country

The Head of Government considered stability as fundamental for National Development, since to develop a Country, all of society’s “layers” must be involved. The declaration was made during the Prime Minister’s visit to the Laclubar Sub-District, Manatuto District, on the 25th of May, under the scope of the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) consultation.
Answering the concerns and suggestions presented by the Sub-District Administrator and Sucos Chiefs, the Head of Government explained that “through the NSDP there will be a decentralization and I request to the Suco Chiefs to present development proposals for the year 2011, before this coming 31st of July, pointing out the priorities felt by the suco”. The Prime Minister also guaranteed that the road connecting the Sub-District to the Fatumaquerek Suco deserves the Government’s attention during the current year.
In this visit, the Prime Minister was accompanied by the Vice-Minister of Infrastructure, José Manuel Carrascalão, by the Secretaries of State of Security and for Former National Liberation Combatants Affairs, Mário Nicolau dos Reis, by the General Director of the State Budget of the Ministry of Finance, Francisco Soares Burlaco and by the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Mrs. Ameera Haq.
