China offers another 100,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine against COVID-19
Timor-Leste received today, March 28th, 2022, 100 thousand doses of Sinovac vaccines, syringes, 20 ventilators, 20 oxygen concentrators and 20 thousand tests offered by the People's Republic of China.
At the handover ceremony, held at the Autonomous Service of Medicines and Health Equipment (SAMES), the Vice-Minister of Health, Bonifácio Mau Coli dos Reis, officially received the vaccines and supplies from the Chinese Ambassador in Timor-Leste, Xiao Jianguo.
This is the 15th batch of medical supplies and equipment to combat the COVID-19 epidemic provided by the Chinese Government. This is the second batch of Sinovac vaccines that Timor-Leste has received, after the batch received last year on June 5th.
During the ceremony, the Vice Minister thanked, "on behalf of the Government, the generous commitment and assistance that the Government of China has given to the national health sector".
