Minister of Justice swears in 34 new prison guards for Suai prison
On 26 March, 2018, 34 new prison guards were sworn in for Suai prison, at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Justice, in a ceremony presided by the Minister of Justice, Maria Ângela Carrascalão, accompanied by the Vice Minister of Justice, Sebastião Dias Ximenes, by the General Director of the Ministry of Justice, Marcelina Tilman da Silva and by the President of the Civil Service Commission, Faustino Cardoso.
Maria Ângela Carrascalão congratulated the new sworn in prison guards, appealing “to defend the rule of law and to act on the basis of the Constitution of the RDTL, complying with dignity and loyalty in accordance with the Statutes of the Civil Service” and also informed she will soon visit the facilities of the Suai prison.
Lastly, the President of the Civil Service Commission, Faustino Cardoso, congratulated the new prison guards “for the effort they made throughout the recruitment process, which started in March of 2017” and highlighted “the importance of this ceremony for the lives of the newly sworn in guards, considering the difficulty in the admission, where only one percent of the participants were selected through a classic recruitment process between 2931 candidates”.
