Ministry of Health invests in training for a better administration
The Minister of Health, Maria do Céu S. Pina, carried out the opening of the training under the theme “To develop and train health sector civil servants to promote good governance”, which takes place from October 17th to 20th at the National Hospital Guido Valadares.
The course is addressed to the Directors and Heads of Department and the Minister called upon those to implement the lessons from this training to better perform their duties. This training follows on from those that have already been held in four reference hospitals and in the health services Delegation of 12 Municipalities, plus the Special Administrative Region of Oe-cusse, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, with the Ombudsman of Human Rights and Justice and with the General Inspectorate of State, based on an agreement that has been working for two years.
Maria do Céu Pina asked the participants to get the most from these four days and, above all, to recognize honestly the weaknesses that they face in patient care. Through this training, it will be possible to set up a good administration and improve patient care.
The trainers came from three institutions (Ministry, Ombudsman and General Inspectorate) and will provide guidance to participants on good administration, an important aid for all managers. The Minister pointed out that this guidance includes proper patient care and better service delivery to communities, by managers and health professionals.
The Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice, Silvério Pinto, the General Inspector of State, Francisco de Carvalho, and health professionals attended the opening of this training.
