Communication Staff from the Government receive certificates for a Communication Course at the CENJOR
Under a cooperation protocol between the Secretariat of State for Social Communication (in Portuguese “SECOMS”) for Timor-Leste and the Professional Training Centre for Journalists (Portuguese acronym: CENJOR), from Portugal, a training session was carried out on “Communication and interaction with the media”. Public Administration Staff working in Communication participated in this training course, which took place in Lisbon during the months of September and October 2015.
The objective of this training was to learn effective ways of transmitting current issues to the public, namely how and when to divulge informative elements of an institution that are considered of interest to the public.
“The corporation between the Secretariat of State for Social Communication of Timor-Leste and CENJOR was positive because it resulted in several training activities within the social communication area. Thus, through the knowledge and experience that they have absorbed, the staff have become better messengers for information that the State and Government intend to turn public”, highlighted the Ambassador for Timor-Leste in Portugal, Maria Paixão, at the course’s closing ceremony.
The training session started on 21 September and finished on 27 October 2015. Several subjects were lectured such as editorial techniques, Radio Studio, TV Studio, Communication through Digital Support, Communication management in crisis situations and strategic knowledge of Social Communication.
