Government attended the fish collection in Ulmera
The Minister of State, Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs and Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Estanislau da Silva and the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, António da Conceição, travelled, on May 1st, to Liquiçá, for salmon and crab collection in Manemori, Suco of Ulmera, located at the Administrative Post of Bazartete.
These species were raised by Tasi Oan La’o Hamutuk Association, on a lagoon wider than a hectare. The Minister Estanislau da Silva, ensured a wider cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Environment (MoCIE), on what concerns to financial support and distribution.
“The MoCIE ensures the organization of this process, so that fish and crab will be able to reach the market, and the subsequent distribution around restaurants, F-DFTL, PNTL and schools, under the Scholl Meal Program”.
The Minister further adds that MoCIE is responsible for the training at Tasi Oan La’o Hamutuk Association, through the Institute for Business Development Support (IBDS), as well as to other organizations dedicated to this activity.
The president of the Tasi Oan La’o Hamutuk Association, Mateus Soares, asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for “a backhoe loader to widen the lagoon and, thus, rising fish and crab production, for consumers’ supply”.
The Vice Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, Marcos da Cruz, local leaders, servants and local community also attended this ceremony.
