Prime Minister inaugurates Ossuary at the Municipality of Ainaro

The Prime Minister, Dr. Rui Maria de Araújo, inaugurated, on March 13th and 14th, the Ossuary at the Municipality of Ainaro.

In this place are gathered 2.527 corpses and, on behalf of the government, the Prime Minister praised the sacrifice of the heroes and veteran combatants, on the struggle for independence.

“No one can reward them. Therefore, as Timorese, we must appreciate their sacrifices and dedicate ourselves to our country”, referred Dr. Rui Maria de Araújo, further adding the commitment promise on behalf of national development, as a way of honoring the memory of the dead.

The president for the organizing committee of collection of mortal remains from the Municipality of Ainaro, Gil da Costa Alves, highlighted that the veterans from Ainaro will not get involved in political action and illegal organization who wish to create instability in the territory.

At this event, were also present the Minister of State, Coordinating Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of Education, Fernando Lasama de Araújo, the Vice Minister of Social Solidarity, Miguel Manetelu, and the Vice Minister of Health, Ana Isabel Soares.

 After the inauguration, the Prime Minister has held a surprise visit to the Referral Hospital of Maubisse, in Vila Maria, located in a centenary building. In this place, he has made a symbolic delivery of tables and chairs to the parents of the students from the Basic Education School Venâncio Braz.
