Prime Minister in good health and returning to Timor-Leste
The Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Dr. Rui Araújo, was discharged yesterday from Singapore’s National University Hospital (NUHS) and was transferred to a hotel, where he will stay until his return to Díli. Tomorrow, Friday, he will undergo his last medical examination before returning to Timor-Leste.
Prime Minister met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, K. Shanmugam, to thank the hospitality and the support provided during the medical treatment and also express the solidarity of Timor-Leste regarding the health status of the first Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew.
According to information provided by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Hernâni Coelho, Dr. Rui Araújo made several medical exams in NUHS and no worrying evidence has been recorded regarding his health condition.
The Prime Minister met yesterday with the hospital board of directors to thank the dedication and care provided by the medical team and took also the opportunity to see for himself the cooperation established two years ago between Timor-Leste and the NUHS in the area of health care.
The Timorese Prime Minister is in Singapore since the beginning of Monday afternoon, after being admitted to the Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares, Díli, as he felt unwell on Sunday night, on his return from a working visit to Ainaro.
