SSAD signs cooperation agreement with the city of Braga
On November 25th, the Secretary of State for Administrative Decentralization, Tomás do Rosário Cabral, and the Mayor of Braga (Portugal), Ricardo Rio, signed a cooperation protocol which focus on administrative decentralization.
According to this protocol, the City of Braga will support the efforts to build the Municipality of Manatuto, contributing to the capacity building of its municipal workers through professional training, providing suitable technical resources and materials for the projects and municipal programs and carrying out regular exchange of knowledge, experience and information.
Under this protocol, which has an initial term of two years, it will be also up to the Municipality of Braga to promote the teaching of Portuguese language to Timor-Leste’s local administration services and to create windows of opportunity between Braga and Timorese economic agents.
