Secretary of State for Social Communication and TELKOMCEL guarantee Internet for ANTIL
To ensure that the website of the Timor-Leste News Agency (ANTIL) updates the information every hour of the day, the Secretary of State for Social Communication signed a Memorandum of Understanding with TELKOMCEL, by the time of the ANTIL presentation, on July 27th, 2016, in Dili.
The Secretary of State Nélio Isaac Sarmento emphasised that "the main objective of this Memorandum of Understanding is to support the activity of ANTIL, allowing all citizens to benefit from their rights to access both national and international information."
TELKOMCEL will support and offer a high-speed Internet line for ANTIL’s work and assure the website maintenance, he added. Also ANTIL’s equipment, namely the data centre, will be included in future technical agreement between the Ministry of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers-SECOMS and TELKOMCEL.
TELKOMCEL was represented by its Executive Director, Dedi Suherman. The Memorandum of Understanding is valid for one year from the date of signature, renewable for equal periods, while the parties – the company and the Secretary of State – consider it necessary.
