Bilateral Defense Discussions between Timor-Leste and the United States of America

The 5th Bilateral Defense Discussions between Timor-Leste and the United States of America are being held on Friday 24 October at the Ministry of Defense and F-FDTL Headquarters in Dili.

The Bilateral Defense Discussions were established to serve as a channel of communication and coordination for all military-to-military activities and defense related issues between the US Armed Forces and the F-FDTL. Such activities vary from strategic dialogue, to operational cooperation, from planning and executing of training activities, to exercises and exchanges.

The 5th edition of the Bilateral Defense Discussions will be co-chaired by Dr. João de Corte Real Araújo, Director-General of the Secretariat of State of Defense and Capitão-de-Fragata Higínio das Neves, Commander of the F-FDTL Naval Component from Timor-Leste and by Captain Greg St. Pierre, of the U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM) from the United States.

On Thursday the 23 both Delegations will visit the Hera Naval Base.
