Prime Minister holds a meeting with Australian MPs from the Timor-Leste Friendship Group

The Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, attended, on February 9th, 2023, a breakfast organised by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (Australian Parliament), Sharon Catherine Claydon, with Members of Parliament from the Timor-Leste Friendship Group.

The breakfast was held at the premises dedicated to the Speaker of the Australian Parliament (House of Representatives), in the city of Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, as part of the official visit of the Head of the Timorese Government to this country.

The event was attended by the Timorese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Adaljiza Magno, the Ambassador of Timor-Leste in Canberra, Inês Almeida, the Australian Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Bill Costello and other members of the national delegation.

Although the plenary meeting of the House of Representatives was taking place at the same time, several MPs, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Milton Dick, attended the meeting and, during the break in the work of the plenary, conveyed the continued support of the MPs of this group for the national development of Timor-Leste, mentioning that the various parliamentary parties, including the opposition parties, unanimously supported this cause.
