Opening of the Second Course for Marine Corps of F-FDTL

The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Timor-Leste, Major-General Lere Anan Timur, officially opened, on May 28th 2012, the second training course for Marine Corps, in Hera, Dili.
34 members of F-FDTL (seven officials, 18 sergeants and 19 soldiers) participate in this training.
Major-General Lere Anan Timur thanked the support of Portuguese military “by transforming the guerrilla force into a professional force”, and asked the trainees “to strive to become, after the course, good Marines, by continue serving F-FDTL as you have been doing until now”.
The training course is four months long and is delivered by three Portuguese Military, who came to Timor-Leste to provide support to Timorese Marines, in this training course.
