The second awarding ceremony of the conclusion certificates for the Intensive Complementary Training Course took place at the Noble Hall of the INFORDEPE in Díli, on January 31st, counting with the presence of the Minister for Education, Bendito dos Santos Freitas.
At this ceremony, were awarded 355 certificates to teachers of the Transitory Regime of the Teaching Career of the district of Díli. Teachers from the remaining 12 districts got their certificates on February 3rd (Ermera, Liquiçá, Bobonaro, Manatuto, Baucau, Lautém and Viqueque) and on February 7th (Aileu, Manufahi, Ainaro, Cova Lima and Oe-cusse), thus completing a total of 4365 teachers.
The first awarding ceremony of the certificates of completion of the Intensive Complementary Training Course had been held on October 29th, 2013 in Dili and October 31st in the remaining districts, awarding certificates to 841 teachers.
The Intensive Complementary Training Course is a training program for teachers of the Ministry of Education, implemented by INFORDEPE, which began on November 5th, 2012 and finished on December 31st, 2013. This course was designed with the aim of training 7124 teachers, integrated in the Transitional Regime of the Teaching Career thereby fulfilling their professional qualification as required by the Base-Law on Education, the Teaching Career Statute and the Teaching Staff Mandatory Competence Framework, with a Bachelor’s degree, certifying specific training which enables them to teach according to the needs of professional performance on education.
Training took place in all districts and sub districts across the country, and was conceived and developed following the Bilateral Cooperation Agreement, signed between the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste and the Portuguese Republic.
All the teachers who have been awarded the conclusion certificate of the Intensive Complementary Training Course will obtain a certification, awarded by INFORDEPE, equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree, this being valid for purposes of integration in the Teaching Career, according to the ministerial diploma n. 17/ME/2013, of September 25th.
