From December 9th to December 11th 2013, the Minister of State and of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, José Luis Guterres, went to Brussels, Belgium, for the 98th Council of Ministers of the Asian, Caribbean and Pacific Countries (ACP).
In this meeting, the Minister José Luís Guterres – who, in 2013, replaced the Minister of Finance in the National Management for the Authorization of the European Union Fund – and the Director of the European Commission for Asia and Pacific, Dirk Meganck, signed a Finance Agreement of the Global Climate Change Alliance worth four million euros (5.6 million American dollars).
This amount will be given to the Ministry of Agriculture of Timor-Leste, the entity responsible for this issue.
According to the Minister José Luis Guterres, “the signature of this agreement is beneficial for the Timorese people and the support of the European Commission is indispensable”.
