The Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employment Policy, Ilídio Ximenes da Costa, awarded training certificates to the 66 trainees who graduated in the areas of administration and sewing at the Secretarial and Sewing Training Centre Madre Madalena Morano – in Fuiloro, in the Suco of Fuiloro, subdistrict of Lospalos, district of Lautem, at a ceremony held in November.
63 out of the 66 trainees took the administration course and the other three took the sewing course. During eight months, the trainees received theoretical classes, which took place at the Training Centre, followed by two months of practical training, in the workplace.
The Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employment Policy said he was pleased with the work developed at the Secretarial and Sewing Training Centre of Fuiloro. Nevertheless, Ilídio Ximenes da Costa suggested an improvement in the computer system for trainees’ registration after the course, so that there is a notion of those who got an employment.
The Secretary of State still highlighted that “this Training Centre already got levels 1 and 2 of qualification, for administration and sewing, at the National Institute for Workforce Development (NIWD).
The course’s coordinator, Inês Freitas Bartolo, explained that “the purpose of the training is to provide professional qualification to young people, with human and Christian values. Therefore, after graduating, they will be ready to actively participate in social life and get integrated in workplace, with dignity, competence and sense of responsibility.
The Secretary of State also awarded three sewing machines to the three trainees who graduated in the sewing area.
