The Secretary of State for Media, Nélio Isaac Sarmento, revealed the possibility of cooperation between RTTL E.P. and the Television of the Republic of Indonesia (TVRI), in the area of capacity building of human resources, for RTTL E.P. Timorese journalists, at the TVRI Training Centre. The information was released following an official visit to the TVRI premises in Jakarta, on October 31st, 2013.
“Under the perspective of this cooperation, TVRI will be sending professional technicians to Dili, to perform training sessions, and RTTL EP will in turn, have the opportunity to send their own journalists for qualification at the TVRI Training Centre in Jakarta. This is a good opportunity to qualify RTTL EP journalists, and ensure the quality of information”, defended Nélio Isaac Sarmento.
The Secretary of State for Media further added, “information with quality will contribute to the process of democracy and stability, by ensuring the right of the people to be well informed.”
The executive General Director at TVRI, Irwan Hendarmin, asserted TVRI´s offer to provide training for Timorese journalists in Dili and Jakarta, and added that TVRI accepts to open vacancies for Timorese internships.
Irwan Hendarmin, said that every year, the Training Centre of TVRI organizes training sessions for the production of programs, management and technical qualification for journalists in electronic media.
TVRI has currently 5,600 employees, spread across the 28 regional stations in all the Indonesian provinces. The Indonesian public television is organizing the shift from analogue to digital transmissions.
