The Technical Training Centre in Communication (TTCC) from the Ministry of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, held the II Seminar on Communication – “Interacting with Media”, on last September 13th, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation’s Main Hall, in Dili. This is the second seminar on Communication, promoted by TTCC in 2013, under the 2012-2013’s Media Program, funded by the EU and Portuguese delegated cooperation, under the patronage of the Embassy of Australia and the Embassy of Indonesia, in Dili.
This seminar for media officers – who, during this year, have been receiving intensive training on various aspects of communication and public relations’ areas – had a diversified panel of national and international speakers, also caught the interest of media professionals, as well as politicians, students and institutions.
At the opening ceremony, the Secretary of State for Media, Nélio Isaac Sarmento, welcomed the participants and highlighted the fact that the event had the main goal, of enabling public institutions’ human resources with specific competences in the communication area.
This II Seminar on Communication included the ceremony of awarding of participation certificates to about 150 Media Timorese professionals, who took part in specialized journalism courses this year.
The former Prime Minister, Dr. Mari Alkatiri, made the final speech.
Present at this event, were the President of the Civil Servants Commission, Eng. Libório Pereira, the Secretary of State for Media, Nélio Isaac Sarmento, the Secretary of State for Support and Promotion of the Private Sector, Veneranda Lemos, members of the National Parliament, general directors, national directors, heads of department, media officers, journalists, media students, and others.
