The Government, through the Secretary of State for Support and Promotion of the Private Sector, Veneranda Lemos, and the Secretary of State for Livestock, Valentino Varela, took part in the inauguration ceremony of EBAI Butcher’s shop. The ceremony took place on 25 January 2013 at Beduku, Comoro.
The ceremony was organized by IADE (Institute for Business Development Support), which is under the Secretariat of State for Support and Promotion of the Private Sector. The ceremony is part of the business link programme and is also a means to assist EBAI Butcher’s shop to secure sustainable buyers, such as supermarkets, restaurants and hotels.
Veneranda Lemos stated that “EBAI Butcher’s shop is the sole company that supplies local fresh meat in accordance with international hygiene standards. The company possesses well qualified workers trained by international specialists on animal slaughtering and meat cutting techniques, and it pays a particular attention to hygiene and public health.
“The business link programme is a new service being provided by IADE and intends to facilitate businessmen in the early stage of the programme. IADE helps identifying and establishing relations among potential partners, including meat-selling and meat-buying companies, with the objective of obtaining sound and sustainable buyers and suppliers. The last phase of the programme will deal with organizing a business link event between promotion of products and individuals, taking into account the preferences of buyers and sellers”, Veneranda Lemos added.
The programme, organized by IADE and EBAI Butcher’s shop, had the support of Business Oportunity and Support Services (BOSS) and is implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO), with financial support from Irish Aid.
