The Vice Prime Minister, Fernando La Sama de Araújo, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Electricity, Januário Pereira, inaugurated the electrical substation of Cassa, district of Ainaro, on November 26th, 2012.
Fernando La Sama de Araújo said he was particularly happy and proud, because the place where he was born (Ainaro) will now have electricity 24 hours a day. “I wish to call on the Community to use electricity with responsibility”, he concluded.
The Secretary of State for Electricity, Januário Pereira, highlighted that, with the inauguration of the electrical substation of Cassa, eight substations are completed, lacking only the one from Suai to complete the plan, which foresees the construction of nine substations, all across the country.
The Administrator of Ainaro’s district, Manuel Ramos Pinto, took the occasion to ask the State Secretariat for Electricity, to extend electricity supply to Ainaro’s villages and sucos, in 2013.
Apart from the Vice Prime Minister, Fernando La Sama de Araújo, and the Secretary of State for Electricity, Januário Pereira, were also present at the ceremony: the Vice Minister of Commerce, Industry and Environment, Abel Ximenes, the Secretary of State for Water, Sanitation and Urban Development, Elias Pereira Moniz and the district and subdistrict administrators from Ainaro, Baucau and Lautém.
