This inauguration reminds us of the old building, which was damaged, and the subsequent prejudice we had, also by the loss of documents, which contained unrecoverable information. But I consider this inauguration as act of emotional recovery. Our feeling of sadness is replaced, just like the old building is replaced by this new one”, referred Fernando La Sama de Araújo.
The Vice Prime Minister and Coordinator of Social Affairs thanked, also, the Church’s dedication, over the years, reaffirming its importance in Timor-Leste. “The Church is very close to the People and the Government pays respect and follows that closeness. Thus, I consider important the partnership between Catholic Church and the Government. Together, we can develop society and the country. Forward it into a better future. This cooperation strengthens my optimism in solving problems”, he confessed.
The Bishop of Dili’s Diocese, D. Alberto Ricardo da Silva, clarified the feature of the Ecclesiastic Chamber’s services, namely of the Episcopal Division which is responsible, in the Diocese, by the elaboration and conservation of documents.
