From September 20th to the 29th, at the Convention Centre in Dili, the Secretariat of State for Professional Training and Employment Policy (SoSPTEP) organized, an exhibition about Professional Careers for the Youth entitled “Thinking, From now on, about our career in the future.”
The exhibition was an event of great importance in that it was an opportunity to give information and guidance, to help high school students to make decisions about their future professions, which have to do with the labor market
The Vice Prime Minister, Fernando La Sama de Araújo, said at the time: “This fair has the objective to provide orientation to young people, so that they will know what they have to do from now on, and the path they must follow for the future, and what they should be doing, so that they will have a solid foundation to build upon. “
The Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employment Policy, Ilídio Ximenes da Costa, explained in turn that, the exhibition is a program conducted annually by SoSPTEP and despite only having taken place in Dili, in the future we are planning for it to also take place in the districts, in order to disseminate information to all young people so they might think and decide about the profession they may wish to follow in the future.
Five thousand and three hundred students from twenty-two secondary education schools in Dili, visited the exhibition The program was funded by Australian Aid, Youth Employment Promotion Program (YEPP), ILO and the Centre for Employment and Professional Guidance (CEOP).
