The community of Manufahi receives the certificate of land ownership

Last September 22nd, the Government of Timor-Leste, represented by the Ministry of Justice, has once again, delivered certificates of land ownership to ten people, this time in the Manufahi district.

The Secretary of State for Land and Property, Jaime Xavier Lopez, said that the certificates are delivered to the community in continuation of the policy project set by the IV Constitutional Government, which had already previously been followed in the districts of Ainaro, Manatuto, Baucau, Bobonaro, Oecusse and Liquiçá. The V Constitutional Government continues this policy in all the other districts, namely Ermera, Aileu, Covalima, Manufahi and Lautém.

The interim Administrator in the Manufahi district, Arantes Isaac Sarmento, mentioned that the issue of land ownership in this district is the same as in other districts and therefore asked for the program to continue in the sub districts (Alas, Turiscai and Fatuberlihu), which are part of Manufahi.

The ceremony was attended by, the Minister of Justice, Dionisio Babo; the Vice Minister of Justice, Ivo Jorge Valente; the Secretary of State for Land and Property, Jaime Xavier Lopes; the Director of DNTP; the interim Administrator for the Manufahi district, Arantes Isaac Sarmento; the Commander of PNTL in this district and other local authorities and the community.
