The interim Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Marcos da Cruz, said that “the fund to develop this project was provided by the Government of Spain. The website provides information on the fisheries sector in Timor-Leste, and is developed by the Regional Fisheries Livelihoods Programme (RFLP) in cooperation with the National Directorate of Fisheries of the MAP. “

The General Director of MAP, Lourenco Borges Fontes, said that the website is very useful, because it provides information on fishing activities carried out in Timor-Leste, and contains the laws governing the sector.

The official launch ceremony was attended by the interim Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Marcos da Cruz, the General Director of MAP, Lourenço Borges Fontes, the National Director of the Ministry of Justice, Francisco Cáceres, the representative of the Ministry of Finance, the Director of the National RFLP and a representative of the development partner FAO.
