On the 1st of June, the Ad-Hoc Committee for Promotions, and the Secretary of State for Security, met in the Secretariat of State of Security, in Dili, to start the preliminary work for the extra period of promotions for the National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL).
The Ad-Hoc Committee for Promotions, was created by the Decree-Law nÂș 22/2012, dated May 23rd, and is composed by the members of the Monitoring Committee for the Promotion Process in PNTL, and by members of the Committee for Promotions in PNTL, and are entrusted with the role of leading the process of promotions.
At issue are promotions ranking from Sergeants to Superintendents, which are to occur shortly.
The Chairman of the Ad-Hoc Committee for Promotions, Isabel da Costa Ferreira, said “at the meeting, the work of the Monitoring Committee for the Promotion Process, and that of the Ad-Hoc Committee were presented to the Secretary of State for Security. Shortly, the Ad-Hoc Committee will announce to the National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) which are the proposed positions.”
The Secretary of State for Security, Francisco Guterres, on behalf of the IV Constitutional Government, thanked the Monitoring Committee for the Promotions Process, for the work that has been done, especially in the identification of possible problems, so that they may be solved.
