Following the International Year of Cooperatives, the Ministry of Economy and Development of the Government of Timor-Leste, the UNDP, the GIZ and other development partners are proposing a national forum that brings together the cooperative sector and local private sector actors and national legislators, professionals, business persons, civil society, experts and development partners, allowing the sharing of knowledge and experiences that encourage entrepreneurship and increase productivity through the lens of inclusive economic growth.

The objectives of this Forum on Inclusive Growth are:
1. Realize economic inclusive activities successful in Timor-Leste to date by identifying best practices of micro, small and medium enterprises and cooperatives.

2. Act as a common platform for sharing and dissemination of knowledge and coordination between the actors of the public and private sector and cooperative in their efforts to create business and job opportunities, value chains and production and promotion of an internal market.

3. Search more practical and simplified approaches for the underprivileged, women and young people, able to initiate, expand and maintain their business as well as for the Government, in cooperation with the movement of cooperatives, the private sector and other relevant partners , will develop a legislative framework, as well as services and investments designed to boost productivity and encourage entrepreneurship among Timorese entrepreneurs.
