The first round of 2012 presidential elections will be held on March 17.
In case of necessity a second round will take place the third week of April 2012.

The schedule was announced by the President, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, on January 13 last at a ceremony at the Palace Nicolau Lobato, which was attended by representatives of the organs of sovereignty, political parties, diplomatic corps, UN and civil society.
