Grant of day-off January 23, 2012

The IV Constitutional Government of Timor-Leste decided to grant day-off on January 23, all day, to all employees and agents of the ministries or departments depending on them, as well as institutes and organizations included in indirect State administration. This decision is based on the Law n.^o 10/2005 from August 10, which determines that the national holidays, the official commemorative dates and days-off.

On January 23 celebrations will be held on the grounds of the Chinese New Year, given the strong community of Chinese origin residing in the country, by which the Government intends to facilitate the participation of civil servants in the celebrations, granting day-off throughout the day.
