On October 10, the Secretariat of State for Youth and Sports organized an Exchange Program in Baucau, attended by 336 young people.
The youngsters came from the thirteen districts: 26 from Díli, 63 from Manatuto, 100 from Baucau, 25 from Lospalos, 21 from Covalima, 12 from Ainaro, 16 from Manufahi, 15 from Oe-Cusse Ambeno, 14 from Liquica, 14 from Aileu, 14 from Ermera and 16 from Viqueque.
The Secretary of State for Youth and Sport, Miguel Manetelo, said that “the Exchange Program’s main objective is to create a social interaction between young people from different districts. I hope you enjoy this opportunity, enjoy the knowledge obtained here and share it with other young people of your districts”.
Miguel Manetelo added: “The Exchange Program held in the Baucau district is part of the annual program of the Secretariat of State for Youth and Sport. The first program was held in Oe-Cusse, in 2009, followed by the district of Maliana in 2010, and this third year in Baucau”.
The representative of the Covalima Youth, Francisco Lopes, was satisfied with this program because it brought together young people from the thirteen districts allowing them to exchange views, learn about the cultures of other districts and also to strengthen relations among young people.
