On September 1 and 2, with the conversion of the public servants in Bobonaro and Oe-Cusse districts, the Civil Service Commission ends its program of converting temporary employees into permanent public servants. The total number of converted employees in both districts is 1,344 with 784 in Bobonaro and 560 in Oe-Cusse.
The President of the Civil Service Commission, Libório Pereira, said: “These are the last two districts under the conversion program of the Civil Service Commission, based on Government Resolution n.o 42/2010, of November 17, which converts temporary employees into permanent public servants, a total of 13,227 across the country. The ceremony aims to put the public servants in their positions with dignity.”
Libório Pereira asked to the converted public servants to work as servants of the State “to be an employee is to best serve the development of our country.”
In his speech, the Administrator of the Bobonaro district, Domingos Martins, said: “Before there were temporary and permanent employees, but today, all of you belong to only one modality, ie, have become permanent employees. I ask you to, in your work, not to serve determined groups but to be neutral, so that the people do not say that there are preferences, because that’s not being a good employee. I also wish to tell you that the district directors who have worked with me to date, as administrator, know that the administrator does not rule alone, he works in coordination with the ministry departments.”
José Anuno, administrator of Oe-Cusse district, thanked “the government for the contracts celebrated with our employees with different wage levels, from one to seven, according to the Civil Service regulation, converting them today as permanent employees. Some of the public servants recently converted have been working for over ten years, especially those who serve as teachers. “
