On June 14, the Secretary of State for Electricity, Water and Urbanization, Januário Pereira, visited the sub-station in Kamea, Becora that is part of the transmission line for the heavy oil power station, as well as the construction site for the foundations that will sustain seven generators, in Hera.
On this visit, the Secretary of State accompanied the construction and installation process, in Kamea, of the first of nine control panels to be installed throughout the territory, by Chinese technicians from the construction company China Nuclear Industry 22nd Construction Company, in cooperation with Timorese engineers.
“The plant in Kamea will be followed by other plants to be installed later in Manatuto, Baucau, Lospalos, Ainaro, Same, Betano, Kasa and Liquiça,” said Januário Pereira, adding that “the control panel will operate as a detector for short-circuits in some areas, and the digital and computerized system will allow EDTL technicians to recover the damages”.
The Secretary of State for Electricity, Water and Urbanization also visited the Hera area, where the Powerplant is being built. He was accompanied by the Indonesian person responsible for the construction, Engineer Hadi Irawam, from Puri Akray Engineering Company Limited, sub-contracted by the China Nuclear Industry 22nd Construction Company, in charge of building the foundations for the installation of seven generators, which should arrive in July, to the Behau temporary port.
