This Thursday, March 14, the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Miguel Manetelu, received the visit of the United States of America Ambassador, Judith Ryan Fergin. The visit of the diplomat had the purpose of initiating conversations for a possible participation of the USA Embassy in the youth areas.

“The ambassador made it know that the USA Embassy has the intention of participating in some areas related to youth although it hasn’t specified the type of assistance in this preliminary meeting with the Secretariat of State for Youth and Sports. Since the intention has been shown, we hope to give continuity to the issue in a more technical sense in the next meetings so that we can work together for Timor-Leste’s youth development”, referred the Secretary of State.

Miguel Manetelu informed about some of the programs that are being developed in the youth and sports areas. Judith Ryan Fergin, making the most of the opportunity, talked about the possibility of developing a joint sport activity, in case a visit of American militaries to Timor-Leste happens in the near future.
