The IV Constitutional Government of Timor-Leste has decided to concede day-off on the 21^st April (for the whole day) and the 25^th April (during the morning, up to 12 noon) to all staff and agents of the Ministries or dependent services, as well as the institutes and organisms integrated in the State’s indirect administration.

This decision is based on Law no. 10/2005, of the 10^th of August, which establishes the legal regime for holidays, official commemorative dates and days-off. Amongst the commemorative dates is Holy Thursday, which, every year, has a variable date.

Holy Thursday, which this year is celebrated on the 21^st April, is the last day of Lent and the beginning of the Pascal Triduo in the catholic religion’s calendar, and is one of the solemnities of great importance to the Christian Community in Timor-Leste. For this fact, the government decides to concede a day-off on that day.

On the 25^th of the same month, a day-off is given, for the morning period, to allow the return to their place of residence, after the celebration of Easter Sunday with their family, in the Districts.
