The Central Bank releases a Report on Economic Performance and promotes dialogue between the public and private sectors, the Government, and the CCI-TL

On March 23rd, 2026, the Central Bank of Timor-Leste (BCTL) will launch the 2025 Report on Timor-Leste’s Economic Performance at the Dili Convention Centre, as part of an event that will also feature a dialogue between representatives from the public and private sectors on strategies for national economic growth.

The initiative is jointly organised by the Government, through the Minister for Economic Affairs, the BCTL, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCI-TL), under the theme “Timor-Leste: Toward Private-Sector-Led Economic Growth.”

The event aims to provide an analysis of the country’s economic performance and serve as a forum for public institutions, business leaders, and other relevant stakeholders to exchange views on measures to strengthen economic diversification, promote investment, support business activity, and foster sustainable growth.

According to the programme, the opening session will be attended by the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão; the Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and Minister of Tourism and the Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay; the Governor of BCTL, Hélder Lopes; and the President of CCI-TL, Jorge M. A. Serrano.

Throughout the day, presentations are scheduled by members of the government, representatives of public institutions, and private-sector leaders on topics such as strategic investment planning, economic reform, the transformation of the agricultural sector, legal certainty for investment, fiscal policy, natural resources, infrastructure, trade policy, financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, the digital economy, and Timor-Leste’s process of economic integration into ASEAN.

The initiative also features question-and-answer sessions, thematic discussions, and concluding sessions focused on identifying priorities to enhance the private sector’s role in national economic development.
